Now that I do my workouts in the morning rather than the evening, I find that at about 10 AM I am in need of a snack. My favourite go-to snack at the moment is these Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls. They are a total treat but also are filling and full of healthy and delicious ingredients to support your overall health throughout the day.
Can I add anything else to these Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls?
Of course! You can easily customize your energy balls but adding ingredients such as:
- nuts
- chia seeds
- ground flax seeds
- dried coconut
How long do these keep for?
You can store these in the freezer for about two months. We tend to go through these though in about two weeks. They are super yummy so they get eaten up quite quickly here!
Chocolate Peanut Butter Energy Balls Recipe
makes: 20 energy balls
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/2 cup honey
1 1/2 cups old fashioned oats
1/2 cup protein powder
1/8 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup chocolate chips (I used semi-sweet mini chocolate chips but you can use whichever you prefer)
Directions:
Add all ingredients into a large mixing bowl.
Mix ingredients all together until well-combined.
Once your batter is all mixed, roll 1 inch balls and place them onto a parchment paper-lined baking sheet.
Place your baking sheet into the fridge and allow your energy balls to firm in the fridge for a few hours.
Once firm, you can place your energy balls into a container and either store them in your fridge or freezer.
